Our review
Warwick Le Crystal Hotel impresses as soon as you enter the lobby – it’s light and bright with floor to ceiling windows facing the street and adorned with chandelier and an oversized button back sofa.
We valet parked our car. It’s an easy short level walk through the side entrance to the lobby.
Complimentary Wi-Fi, a daily newspaper, bottled water and tea and coffee making come as standard.
The rooms are all suites and ours was a Deluxe. Clever design has a long hallway leading to the lounge area, with floor to ceiling windows. Off the hall is the bathroom and then on the same side is the bedroom. Lifting the blind in the bedroom on the false window, one can see to the outside through the lounge. In the hallway are wardrobes with ample storage and hanging space. This design meant the bedroom was separate, but light was let in if wanted by raising the blind. The lounge was some distance from the main doorway, affording privacy and the bedroom was also private. Suitcases can be kept away from both the bedroom and the lounge, something I appreciate.
We had a wet bar, sofa bed, table and chairs with views over the city. The wall covering looked like silk but on inspection was a type of wipe down plastic. The colour scheme was a soothing mocha, grey and white. We had a Nespresso machine and two televisions.
The bathroom was spacious and had a separate tub and shower. Molton Brown toiletries and a decent hairdryer completed the picture.
The suites are all of a high standard but larger ones come with additional extras like a bigger lounge, gas fireplace, kitchenette with hotplate and balcony, depending on requirements.
Siam Restaurant serves authentic Thai cuisine. On the ground floor is the cosy bar where we enjoyed a nightcap.
As well as our wonderful room, we liked the 12th floor outdoor heated Jacuzzi on the roof with views over the city. There is also a salt-water pool (with lifeguard for children) and spa with five treatment rooms using Valmont French products.
In downtown with interesting shops and bars within easy walking distance, this hotel is a great choice for a Montreal stay.
