Our review
The Taj Mahal at One Mansingh Road is our hotel of choice when visiting New Delhi. We have tried most of the others but always end up here. The rooms are reasonable enough, with views over the gardens and the rest of Delhi, but what stand out for us are the restaurants. Coming in second is the lovely pool and spa.
We have had numerous excellent meals here in not one but three of their restaurants. The House of Ming, Delhi’s first Chinese restaurant, blew us away the first time we visited and has been doing so ever since. Not so much because the food is clever or artful, but it is just flavourful, not too salty and not a bit greasy. Portions are generous, the seats comfortable and even when they are busy, you never feel rushed.
If you associate Indian food with just curry, think again. At Varq, the food is taken to another level. It is all exquisite and delicious, prepared by a wonderful chef the last few times we visited. Again, service is exemplary.
There are multiple restaurants here, but I suggest you must eat at least at these two, so plan your trip accordingly.
The spa offers excellent facials with experienced therapists.
Rooms
