Florence, Italy
The Rocco Forte Savoy Hotel, in Piazza Della Repubblica, is a stylish, modern establishment in a historic building, set right in the middle of Florence, within walking distance of the Duomo, Uffizi and Ponte Vecchio.

Our review
The best asset this hotel has is its position, not only in the heart of Florence but also in a historic piazza. Having your hotel as a base is a huge benefit. One can do some shopping and then bring the purchases back to the hotel; go back out and return later to change one’s shoes or freshen up after a trip to a couple of galleries; enjoy a late lunch or sip an early cocktail at the hotel, before heading off out again. The hotel seems to be there to cater for these whims.
The bedrooms are stylish and bright and the public areas ooze Italian chic.
The concierge was knowledgeable and was able to help with all our queries regarding other restaurants and opening hours of art galleries.
The large hotel restaurant, where one can eat indoors or outside on the piazza is extremely popular but totally without pretension. Rather than having a captive audience, the restaurant has to compete with the myriad of other eateries on offer in central Florence and standards here are high. Inside, the bar area has marble tables and black leather tub chairs with fixed settles; outside the cream umbrellas keep off the worst of the sun, the tables set amongst planted troughs of hedges. It is a very attractive place in which to eat.
The hotel is buzzing and ideal for those wanting a stylish city hotel, with good food in a great position, who intend to spend most of their time visiting Florence’s many attractions.
Rooms
Hotel Savoy offers approximately 80 rooms and suites, all designed in a contemporary‑classic style. Interiors combine Italian craftsmanship with artworks inspired by Florentine fashion traditions. Many rooms enjoy views over Piazza della Repubblica, Brunelleschi’s Dome or Giotto’s Bell Tower, while suites provide generous living spaces and refined finishes.
Food and Drink
Irene is the hotel’s signature restaurant, celebrating Tuscan cuisine with a modern interpretation led by chef Fulvio Pierangelini. The menu emphasises seasonal local produce and regional flavours, served in an elegant setting overlooking the square.
Bar Artemisia offers a stylish space for aperitifs and cocktails, reinterpreting the Florentine aperitivo tradition with creative drinks and light dishes.
Wellness
The hotel features a modern fitness centre equipped with Technogym equipment, providing a refined space for personal training and exercise. Wellness facilities focus on fitness rather than a full spa experience.
