Our review
The hotel is blessed with a wonderful location right on the beach. And Santa Monica is a peach; wide open golden sand, backed with palm trees.
The imposing entrance sets the scene; although it likes to term itself a ‘beach hotel’, it is still elegant and gracious. Maximum use is made of its location, with the terrace pool, the reception room and many of the bedrooms taking advantage of the uninterrupted sea views.
Rooms are sumptuous, some have four poster beds and are seemingly good enough to eat, the colour being peppermint green and biscuit beige. The bathrooms are all marble with special massage bathtubs. I liked the complimentary CDs and DVDs. Toiletries are by ‘Red Flower’ a very popular brand. Some suites have private balconies and all have iPads. The chauffeured house Audi is available for guests to visit the local area.
Santa Monica is a lovely place to visit and the downtown area is within easy reach of the hotel. This hotel makes for a classy beach holiday.

Accommodation features a refined coastal aesthetic with floor‑to‑ceiling windows, marble bathrooms and in‑room spa baths. Suites provide additional space and seating areas, with uninterrupted views along the Santa Monica shoreline.
Food and Drink
Catch Restaurant serves seafood‑focused Californian cuisine with an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients and a daily raw bar, complemented by ocean vistas. Terrazza Lounge offers relaxed dining, cocktails and live music in a striking lobby setting overlooking the beach.
Additional bar and lounge spaces provide light meals and drinks throughout the day, designed for sunset views and casual coastal indulgence.
Wellness
Sea Wellness Spa offers a range of massages and rejuvenating treatments inspired by the ocean environment. Wellness facilities include a fitness centre, outdoor swimming pool, hot tub and opportunities for personalised training and yoga sessions.
